Homemade pizza is always a great option for an easy yet delicious delight. Today’s post is especially for the pizza lovers out there who just can’t get enough of the pie.

How to make a pizza at home

So let’s not waste any more time and get your taste buds tantalizing with a scrumptious homemade pizza.

First Off Make the Dough


  • Yeast: 1-1/2 tsp
  • All-Purpose Flour (Maida): 1/2 kg 
  • Salt: 1 tsp 
  • Oil/Ghee: 1 tbsp. 
  • Egg: 1 
  • Water: as required
  • Milk Powder: 2 tbsps.
  • Sugar: 1/2 tsp 


  • Add salt, sugar, egg, yeast, ghee or oil, milk powder and water to all-purpose flour and mix well. 
  • Add sugar and water to the prepared mixture and knead well. 
  • Once kneaded, cover it with a cloth and let it rest for about 30 mins. 

Tada! The dough is ready to be used. 

Next up, Make the Pizza Sauce

You can find pre-made pizza sauce in the market but if that’s not available, you can make it yourself. It ain’t difficult, plus saves you money.


  • 1 large onion (minced)
  • 1 clove of garlic (minced)
  • 500 grams of fresh tomatoes
  • 500 grams of tomato puree
  • 1/4 tsp. of oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. of basil
  • 1/4 tsp. of salt
  • 1/4 tsp. of black peppers
  • 1 tbsp. of butter
  • 1 tbsp. of olive oil

Cooking Directions for Pizza Sauce:-

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter with the olive oil and slowly but completely sauté the garlic & onion. 
  • Add tomatoes, salt, black pepper, oregano, basil and puree. 
  • Bring all the ingredients to a boil, then simmer covered for about 90 mins. Stir occasionally, crushing the tomatoes with a masher. 
  • Continue to mash, stir, and simmer until the sauce reaches the consistency of a rich soup.
  • Next stain the freshly prepared sauce to get rid of seeds and skins and set it aside to cool.

  • Mozzarella Cheese (Obviously!)
  • Chicken
  • Green Peppers
  • Tomatoes
  • Olives (Green or Black)
  • Pineapple
  • Cooked beef cubes
  • Mushrooms
  • Peperoni
  • Onions
  • Spinach
  • Green Chilies
  • Corn

Additional Topping or Seasonings You Might Wanna Try!

  • BBQ Sauce
  • Feta Cheese
  • Red Chili Flakes
  • Garlic Powder
  • Thyme
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Roasted Cumin
  • Chat Masala

Alright!! We’re All Set, Let’s Get Started with the Baking Part…

  • Knead the prepared dough another time with your palms.
  • Slightly grease the pizza pan with oil. 
  • Take a ball of dough, shape it accordingly as per your preferred thickness using a rolling pin and lay it over the pan. 
  • Spread the pizza sauce equally on the dough. 
  • Lay a layer of mozzarella cheese. 
  • Then spread all your toppings onto it
  • Sprinkle oregano powder and red pepper. 
  • Finally spread grated mozzarella cheese and put it into the microwave oven on high for about 7-8 mins. 

Let the Pizza rest for 2 –3 mins so the temperature can even out (PSSS… You don’t wanna burn your mouth)

Transfer the pizza to your cutting board, and cut it into serving portions.

Voila! Your homemade pizza is ready to be served.

Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or chili garlic sauce and enjoy with friends & family. 

You can refrigerate the leftover pizza for upto 3-4 days and re-heat when required.

Note: - Microwave timings may vary as per the thickness so make sure you cook it until the crust becomes golden and the toppings and cheese are hot and bubbly. If you observe that the crust and cheese are darkening rapidly, stop the microwave and change the settings to medium to continue cooking.
